So here I am again. I guess. OK, here’s a good one:
I proved That Einstein was right when he said “Only two things are infinite, the universe and the stupidity of mankind, and I’m not sure about the former.”
Well, first let’s put some sort of definition on stupidity. It can be many things, but for simplicity’s sake, let’s say stupidity is an action with unfavorable consequences that could easily have been avoided. Obviously, no action is possible without matter or energy being involved. Let’s say moving proton X to location A is stupid. Unless both space and time are quantized, there are an infinite number of ways to move proton X to location A because it can travel at an infinite number of velocities. Therefore, stupidity is indeed infinite (or at least has the potential to be infinite).

I’d like to contest that. It’s infinite but for a completely different reason. Time and space are indeed quantized, so there are indeed a finite number of velocities. However, you do not specify the length of time you take to move proton X to location A. You could move it halfway, and then wait a few seconds and continue to move it the rest of the way. Since time is open ended, you could wait as long as you wanted to do it, or go at varying speeds which may or may not include zero, and it would be infinite because it could end up taking an infinite amount of time.
Time is quantized? Since when? Besides, yours has a flaw as well. If the universe is “spherical,” then eventually time will end with a Big Crunch. If it is it is flat or hyperbolic, then eventually nothing will be possible since there will be no usable energy left due to entropy.
Time has always been considered quantized. Read up on planck moments. and also, I subscribe to the flat universe theory, and even though there is no usable energy, you don’t need to have infinite energy… Push the proton with a finite force, stop it with another finite force, wait a while until you encounter an unused amount of time, and then push it again with a finite force, and then stop it at location A with another finite force. You’ve only used a finite amount of energy, and as long as we entropy fighters continue to do so, then we have infinite stupidity.
Planck time isn’t the smallest unit of time possible, it’s just the smallest unit we have. Also, since there is only a finite amount of usable energy in the universe and it is converted to unusable energy whenever something is done with it, you can only push the proton a finite number of times.
I would like to see a continuation of the topic
